Summer Style Social: Come for the style. Stay for the connection.

This summer, an idea I'd been carrying around in my head became real.

I wanted to create a space where women could come together without much of an agenda.

Shop a little. Swim. Listen to music. Eat something delicious. Discover a local designer or artist. Wear something fabulous. Come with a friend or come alone. Maybe meet someone you never would have crossed paths with otherwise.

Mostly, I wanted people to show up, settle in and enjoy being together.

That became Summer Style Social.

And while there was plenty of that involved, the reason behind it was always something much more personal to me:

Connection.

Why Connection?

I've always loved meeting new people, but I've also always been hungry for something beyond simply knowing someone.

Who are you? What matters to you? What makes you light up? What makes you feel like yourself?

There's a difference between meeting someone and actually seeing them, and I've always been drawn to the latter.

Authentic connection hasn't always been something I've found easily. Maybe that's part of why I value it so much now.

Today, I look around at the incredible friendships in my life and realize these are people who choose to connect with me, and whom I choose right back. There's something really beautiful about being seen, heard and cared for by another person.

And, when I think about it, caring for people has been a thread throughout most of my life.

Before Analee Styling, I spent years working behind the scenes in healthcare. The patients I helped care for often had no idea I existed, but my work still mattered to their experience and their outcome. I learned that you don't need recognition to make an impact on another person.

That has always stayed with me.

Building Something a Little Differently

Yes, I'm building a business with Analee Styling.

But I've never wanted success to mean fitting as many clients as possible into my calendar.

Give me three incredible connections a month. Give me one even.

I'd rather really get to know someone. Listen to them. Understand where they are in life and what they need. Help them feel heard and seen. And then let that connection lead wherever it's supposed to lead.

Maybe that's another client. Maybe it's a friendship, a collaboration, an introduction or an entirely unexpected opportunity.

I'm learning that this is simply how I want to build things.

Connection first. The rest can grow from there.

Summer Style Social was an extension of that.

A Day to Celebrate Women

I didn't want to create another networking event. In fact I find networking events to be a bit...boring.

No elevator pitches. No pressure to make the right connections. No expectation that you needed to buy something or accomplish anything while you were there.

I wanted women to have a place to celebrate each other, whatever the win happened to be.

Maybe you're building a business.

Maybe you're creating something.

Maybe you're starting an entirely new chapter.

Maybe you've had a hard year and getting dressed, leaving the house and spending an afternoon by the pool with other women is the win.

You didn't need a particular story to belong there.

There wasn't a right way to experience the day.

You could shop from women-owned businesses and local creatives. Get permanent jewelry. Jump in the pool. Dance. Eat. Have a drink. Meet someone new. Or find a comfortable spot and simply take it all in.

You just had to show up.

And then something pretty amazing happened.

People did.

This Was It.

Our first Summer Style Social began with buckets of rain, because apparently bringing a brand-new idea to life wasn't quite enough excitement. We also unexpectedly lost 4 of our 8 vendors due to illnesses and injuries.

We scrambled. We dried things. We moved things around. And we kept going.

Then the clouds broke.

The sun came out. Music was playing. The pool filled up. Women were shopping and supporting our creatives. Food and drinks were being enjoyed. Conversations were happening everywhere.

And at some point, I stopped moving long enough to look around.

This was it.

Not because everything had gone perfectly.

It was seeing women who hadn't known each other talking. Friends laughing together. Local businesses being supported. People swimming and dancing and lingering.

It felt happy.

It felt easy.

It felt wholesome.

And I realized that what we'd created wasn't really about shopping, style or even the pool.

We'd simply created the space.

The women who showed up created the experience.

The Connection Is Why I'm Here

That's what I want to keep building through Analee Styling. Spaces where people feel welcome. Experiences that make someone feel cared for. Opportunities to see and support one another without needing something in return.

And maybe, every once in a while, bringing two people into the same space who never would have met otherwise.

Because connection is powerful.

When it's genuine, when we give each other the space to really see and be seen, it's a beautiful thing.

So yes, Summer Style Social will be back in 2027.

It will evolve. We'll add some things, change some things and take everything we learned from our first year with us.

But the reason behind it won't change.

Come for the style. Stay for the connection.

Because the style is fun.

But the connection is why I'm here.
