The Cerulean Walk

I've been on many walks, but this one will stay with me forever.

Over the years, I’ve helped organize and run all kinds of events. From small-scale demos to larger productions. Hosting has always come naturally to me. I genuinely love bringing people together and creating experiences that feel meaningful, welcoming, and memorable.

But this event was different.

This one was entirely my own vision from start to finish.

The moment I heard The Devil Wears Prada 2 was being released, the idea hit me like a lightning bolt. Instantly, I could picture it all: a curated shopping walk through downtown Vancouver inspired by one of the most iconic fashion films of our generation.

Most of us remember watching the original movie 20 years ago. It wasn’t just entertaining. It left a mark on so many of us. The fashion, the wit, the ambition, the humor, the transformation. It somehow made you laugh while also quietly reminding you to go after the things you truly want.

For me, it absolutely did.

And naturally, when the second movie started being promoted, I couldn’t stop thinking about creating an experience around it. Not just a shopping event. Not just a movie outing.

But something that combined fashion, connection, local businesses, and a little bit of that magic we all felt watching the original film for the first time.

So that’s exactly what we did.

We spent the day walking through downtown Vancouver, shopping beautiful local boutiques, discovering pieces that made us feel confident, sharing honest styling moments, laughing through the rain, eating lunch together, and finally ending the day exactly where it all began:

Watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 together.

And somehow, somewhere between the mimosas, fitting rooms, umbrella walks, and movie theater seats, something really special happened.

Women connected.

Not in the surface-level way social media often gives us, but genuinely. They encouraged one another. They hyped each other up. They stepped outside of comfort zones. Complete strangers cheered each other on in fitting rooms like old friends.

And honestly...that became the most meaningful part of the entire experience for me.

The fashion inspired the event. But the connection is what made it unforgettable.
